Today

Today started in the same location that I am typing this note from. I
awoke early to clean the kitchen, a job that I had put off from last
night, and to make breakfast. I headed to work at about 8am after
dropping Gwen in the city and by 9am I was on my way out to Toowoomba.
We had a bit of work to do just the other side of Tpowpmba and when we
had succusfully completed that we headed back to Tiowomba for some
lunch. We ate in a shopping centers food court, never my favourite
place and then headed over to JB Hi-Fi to check out what they had. I
was looking for a movie that I couldn't find anywhere else and they
did'nt have it either. When our break was over we headed back to the
office in Brisbane. On the way Vedran watched the stand up comedy of
Jim Jefferies and almost died laughing, however be warned, he isnt for
the faint of heart. We stopped for fuel and then made it back to the
office by 3pm, I finished off a few things and before I knew it, it
was time to pick up Gwek and head home. I dropped her off at home then
went back to the gym for a light work out. When I got home Gwen had
made a great soup, we watched the new Simpsons, cleaned up then it was
almost bed time.
17 hours later I am about to fall asleep, telling this storey for no
other reason then "Why Not?"

I was also fairly happy when I went to the cupboard thinking I did'nt
have any whisky left only to find this hiding in the back

There's nothing wrong with starting Australia day off with a bourben
in a coffee mug, if that is the largest glass there is on the house.

And as the day comes to an end we are amzed at how much work we did in
one day...

And we are heading back out again...

The Office

I have been watching The Office recently and I love it. I never thought I'd find a replacement for Scrubs that is ending soon.

There is no JD and Turk in this show but there is Dwight and Jim. The way that Jim messes with Dwight makes me wish there was someone in my office that I could mess with like that. In the episode that I'm watching now he is convincing Dwight that he is a Vampire.....

I can only hope that the writers strike in the US doesn't stop this amazing show.

Gwen's in there somewhere getting ready to drive me to the Valley to
have dinner and a few drinks with Pat.

On another note, in about a day and a half, Apple is going to announce something, I have no idea what, just that they will....

SMRT

Sometimes I amaze my self, I was wondering how I was going to dry my
shirt before I went out tonight when I came up with the wind tunnel.

After a few days of using the new firmware (1.1.2) I am happy with it. There aren't any bugs, and the new features are handy.
I'd like to see them open up the Bluetooth spec a bit to allow for a GPS dongle and even Stereo Bluetooth, but who knows what they are going to announce next week at MacWorld.

At the moment I am updating the soft/firmware on the phone, I'm a bit nervous about it cause I don't want to brink the phone.....

A German Christmas

We are having a German Christmas Eve tonight. All that means is that
we start eating and drinking 12 hours early.

Cinemas these days....

I'm currently sitting in a cinema waiting for the movie to start and I was thinking how bad the new idea of seat allocation is.
That was until I realized something. Next time I come to see a movie I'm going to book online, choose a good seat and show up 20 min's late so I dont have to sit through the adverts and previews.

I'm not to worried about missing the movie previews now that you can download high-def movie trailers from a number of sites on the net. Also they are mixing up the trailers and adverts so to watch one you have to watch the other.

I wonder if many other people are going to catch onto this and what the cinemas are going to do to stop this happening?

Tomorrow

It looks like it is going to a be a good day to sit inside and have a drink with friends and family. Unless you are in Perth, then you could go to the beach or play outside.

What laptop?

For the past year or so I have liked to think that my next laptop might be a Mac. I started looking seriously this evening and I have come to the decision that it will not be.
Now I am not a normal user, most of the work that I will be doing on it will be data intensive, so lots of RAM and a fast hard drive are important. I do not play games so I don't really care about graphics and some of the work programs I'll run will require XP. None of these facts rule out a Mac, well apart from the fast hard drive. I don't care about built in web cam or the colour of the case. Nor do I need a BluRay or HD-DVD player.

I was surprised when I started to list the spec's that I cared about and the prices next to each other. I have only looked at Dell & Apple so far and I am going to look at the rest of the manufactures, but as you can see below, I am forced to rule out the Mac.
